In 1999 the Denominazione di Origine Controllata dei vini "Colli di Rimini" label was introduced to grade the quality of Rimini wines. The most renowned wines in Romagna are Sangiovese (red), and the white wines Trebbiano (excellent with fish) and Albana di Romagna, sweet or dry.
